The size is true to size. I looked at the reviews and the sizing chart and ordered XS/6 for my almost 5 year old who is 60# and I believe hips 26 inches. However I had to order a size down, unfortunately I didn't realize XS is a size 6 until they arrived and my son is a size 7/8. I hope this review helps with sizing recommendations ๐
