I have had Brazilian Blowouts (original and reformulated), but for the price I thought I would try to do this at home as I needed a new flatiron to travel (dual voltage). I have red hair, it's coarse and frizzy and thick (I have a lot and the hairs are thick). I bought this product and a $13 hair straightener on Walmart. I also went to sally and bought a clarifying shampoo for $7.I am really amazed by this product. I took my time but it was still only about 2.5 hours (I would spend the same amount of time at the salon). My hair is past my shoulders and thick and I used about 3 ounces, so this will be about 5 treatments. I just did this so I can't speak to how long it will last.My hair is much straighter after being blow out-straighter than I have gotten with a Brazilian Blowout for sure. Maybe even too straight. Next time, I will curl the ends a bit. This will hold a curl after, but I have not tried more than wavy.I washed my hair 2x with the clarifying shampoo. Applied the product as directed, experienced no discomfort other than the small can be strong (coconut), so you need ventilation. I did flat iron 10 times with the hot iron at 450 and next time, I will do less. 8 if I want straight and 5 if I want more body. Also, I did small tresses of hair. Again, I have thick wiry hairs, so I took my time and did small sections.Overall, I am really impressed at the cost (MUCH LESS) and the time (Same, maybe less as I didn't have to drive anywhere).
