After two years of using Down John my 30 year old septic tank looks like NEW!

UPDATE 4/22/2021 I have just flushed my septic tank for regular maintenance and have been told everything looks fine now! The system is over 30 years old. Before I started two years ago. I was told to consider an expensive aerobic system. Tried John as a "last resort" and IT WORKS! My lateral lines are clearing up and there are NO problems. Although I did notice a slight improvement after about 6-8 months, there is a HUGE change now compared to a few years ago. The septic tank works like new. If anyone on this site complains about Dawn John after only two or three months of use, it's because they didn't give it a chance to work. Don't forget that it's usually YEARS of sediment and deposits to go through. TRY IT! Update: 03/24/2020 My septic tank is over 30 years old. (installed 1987) I had trouble getting LOTS of solids into the second tank that shouldn't be there. There were also "problems" with the sidelines. I first started using Down John about 8-9 months ago. I've had very unusual heavy rains in my area recently (4-5 inches in about an hour). This created a SEE over my septic tanks and some sidelines. The rain flooded my septic tanks and I had to pump out the rainwater. When the septic tank was inspected this time, there were NO solids in the second cistern. Downstairs, John did exactly what I was hoping for! DOWN JOHN IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY! ---------------------- ------ -------- - ------------------------ It's been two months since I added Dawn John, so far so good. NO problems or backups. It will take about 10 months until the final readings are available. At this point, my septic tank is pumped out annually and I can better see what's happening in the tank and how everything is "broken". When I originally used Down John, I liked that it was a three part system. I hope it's a cure, not a "patch" for septic systems like the one-piece products. None of the one-step products I've tried before have worked. ------ ---------------------------------------------------------- ------ ---------------------------------- ---------- Unlike other "One-Step" products I've used in the past with little results. It's a well thought out system. 3 parts in 3 days to bring the system into shape. I had a question and called the company. Company owner (and inventor/chemist!) took ten minutes to discuss my specific concerns and offered some suggestions. The treatment takes time so I don't know how well it works but so far it has worked fits well! Given the cost of acquiring a new system, it's definitely worth a try.
