This is an update to my original review which I updated again due to a battery problem in the remote control. The first fan had bearing noises in the rear window, so I asked Revain to replace it straight away. Doesn't matter! Sofucor had to source this item from several manufacturers because the fans were very different. The new wooden blades were not countersunk and the mounting screws were long enough (photo attached). The remote control and receiver were different. The new model is reversible (which I expected from the first fan shipped) and the remote control looks completely different (photo attached). It also uses a dedicated A23 battery instead of two AAAs (the included 23A battery only lasts twice for a couple of uses, so I've asked the manufacturer to only swap out the remote - I remove the battery if I don't need it in the meantime use) . ). It is also extremely positive that the fan, if it is switched off via the wall switch, returns to its last setting when the power returns. This means that if there is a power outage at night, the ceiling fan light will not come on unexpectedly. I have no idea how to say upfront that you are getting a fan with an improved design. The new one had a Zhongshan Kebaishi Electric Appliance Company sticker on the motor housing (photo attached) which the original didn't have. I reported my problems to the company. After learning about my first installation, I assembled the fan on the floor instead of running it vertically (photo attached). The printed installation guide was a little easier to read BUT still different than the physical design of the fan. Wiring is different than the first fan, but all wires are clearly labeled and the diagram at the end of the manual is easy to follow. I also shared the idea that short mounting screws make light alignment very difficult. with the bottom of the fan correctly. I found a long version of the same thread in my bucket of assorted screws and cut the head off so when I slid a light over it and centered the center hole on the fan the other two screws lined up and could be inserted. I then removed my longer screw and ended up with a third light screw (photo attached). So far I am very happy with this fan. === The original text of the review follows: The fan is very sleek and quiet, but it was painful to install. First, the written instructions use the smallest possible font and don't match the installation video, which is also animated and just as confusing. The instructions only apply to the longer bottom bar (aka the hanging bar), which leaves plenty of room to work. The shorter bottom floor is much denser. It's not clear, but don't forget to place the magnetic canopy cover between the canopy and the connector cover. The video shows the installation of the blades before connecting the fan, but this greatly complicates subsequent connection. Speaking of blades, they are drilled on a 1/2 inch wide circle to recess screws and washers. They are not drilled to a constant depth. Together with the barely enough long bolts, this means that 3 out of 6 bolts are not holding the motor. I carefully used a 1/2" wood drill bit to deepen the notch a bit, but for 1 screw I had to forgo the washer. The bolts barely protrude 1/8" past the top of the blade and should be longer. At least these small mods didn't cause the fan to wobble, which is really good since the standard wobble correction kit and instructions suggest bending the blade mount, which isn't possible with this type of blade. The instructions also show that the LED bulb has 2 separate wires and not the connector currently used. It's difficult to install, but the connector clip is facing down. Slide the extra wire up to give the connector enough room to plug in. If it hadn't taken so long I would have sent it back but for now it works well with nice airflow at medium speed. If you turn off the fan at the wall switch, it will start with the fan off and the light on. I think the goal is to just use the remote control. When you start the fan, it will briefly run at high speed before switching to the selected slower speed. I blame myself for seeing too many propeller-style fans on the Revai, but this one doesn't change direction for winter use. There's no switch on the side of the motor, and the unlabeled button on the remote doesn't work either.
