Keep your old o-ring
At first glance I was very disappointed. There is a large gap where the thermostat housing bolts, but the way it is sealed (by design) is due to the o-ring thermostat, not the housing inlet bolts. HOWEVER, the o-ring that comes with the part that seals it to the water pump is a regular round edge o-ring and will leak. I had to use the square o-ring from the original housing to attach it to the water pump.
