Review on Casabella Basics Upright Sweep Silver by April Bailey

Update: It took a little getting used to, but now I love this broom. The shovel is awesome!

UPDATE: Okay, it took me a while to get used to this, but I was starting to appreciate this broom. The bristles are MUCH softer than the brand broom I've owned before. It's a bit harder to sweep up sticky objects (like bits of fruit my toddler drops on the floor), but it does a good job of picking up dry dirt, crumbs, hair, etc. And it's very light - much lighter than the previous one Broom - So less effort is spent sweeping dry things. In the end I am very happy with the broom. I bought a broom from this company about 15 years ago and it was AMAZING. I thought about what an amazing broom this is every time I used it. But last week it reached the end of its life and the plastic connecting the handle to the broom head ripped. I ordered this broom hoping it would be like my own broom. No, that is not so. Not even close. In fact, this broom is ridiculously inefficient at sweeping. My husband thought I was exaggerating, but then he tried to sweep some peas out from under the dining table. The peas actually went through the thin stubble without being swept up. The bristles are very similar to my 2 year old's toy broom. However, I like the design of the shovel. Conveniently, you don't have to bend down, and the rubber pad rests very evenly on the floor, so all the dust goes into the pan in one fell swoop. I also love the comb feature that sweeps hair from the broom into a dustpan. And how it's all stacked so the broom bristles don't touch the floor is just awesome.
