I don't know how many other buyers share my opinion on this subject, but here is God's truth. It's increasing like crazy, no doubt about it. However, the optical microscope itself weighs almost nothing. It looks cheap, it feels cheap, let's be honest it was cheap. I wanted to use it to examine the inner workings of mechanical movements in expensive luxury watches. The biggest problem I have is an inability to focus and stay focused. It came with a "stand", at least that's how it was described. This useless stand attaches to the camera and encloses the focus setting with precision, making it almost impossible to set focus without the use of a tool. If the clip is attached in the other direction, then the orientation will be shifted 120 degrees. In this legacy, you should be able to flip the work in your head on its head and then translate it into physical movement under the gun to see the part of the subject that is important to you. When you look at a clockwork at this magnification, everything looks the same. It was a real headache trying to use this POS. The stand weighs less than the camera and does not tighten enough at any connection point to prevent the camera from actually moving. And just as useless as the scope. If you had a sturdy, vertically adjustable rack and pinion mount that was already rock solid to mount this thing on, and a solid solid foot that smoothly adjusts up/down and room at the bottom to keep your work from moving around at the Speed of everything, then this area can bring some value. Sold as is, I don't see it suitable for anything other than a bin. Maybe it could be a paperweight, but it doesn't even weigh enough for that. The bottom line is that without some serious money, there are some things that you can't really take a close look at. In my opinion this is not a solution to any problem. I'm sure this will not frustrate the average user to any end. Save yourself heartache and headaches and stay away from this device. It's not good enough to be called junk.
