3 stars indicate it works great due to issues with the parts included in the package. It seems quality control isn't what happens at "Mr Cartool". I probably wouldn't risk it based on past experience, but I need an electronic unit with this mounting method and there are no other options. Luckily the device is my plan to hardwire it to the car and the cable does the job properly. I have already returned another device from this manufacturer (a 2 dial inclinometer with dials mislabeled but otherwise appear to work). Update: Removed a star due to another quality issue as the device did not stay installed in a specific position. The configuration makes it difficult to align the locknut on the ball mount, and the plastic construction prevents it from staying tight in hot weather. Without enough ball grip, the display unit is too heavy to stay in place when driving on a surface rougher than a well-groomed parking lot.
