This spare part is perfect for my Dyson DC07 Animal vacuum cleaner. When landing I had no problems at all. Installation was a bit cumbersome and instructions would have been helpful. Knowing that others had had issues before from other reviews made my installation a lot easier. It's certainly a good buy considering Dyson isn't just selling this top case but a complete container. For others, here is my quick install guide for this part: 1. Release the trigger and empty the canister. Leave the canister open. I decided it was best to place the canister on top of the box with the valve hanging over the edge.2. Remove the screws that secure the top of the canister. When you remove the top, you also pull out a rod that exposes the valve. Use the flashlight and look inside your canister. You will see a hole below where this stick rests. You must make sure the rod fits into this hole when reinstalling, otherwise the lid will not open.3. Loosen the screw holding the stick to the old tip. Set the joystick aside.4. Remove the trigger from your old top and place it in a spare.5. There is an extension on the inside of the handle. Tighten the handle so the rubber pad expands and the extension fits into the groove on the trigger end of the handle.6. Holding the rod taut so that it pops out, place the rod on the underside of the top of the canister and secure with the screws. Check your trigger. When you pull on it, the wand should pop out. If it doesn't, unscrew everything and try again.7. Stick a stick into the canister and level the top. Turn the canister upside down or sideways and with your other hand, insert the rod into the hole you sawed in step 2.8. Once the rod is in the hole you can reattach the screws holding the top and you are done. Hope this helps, the whole exchange will probably only take you around 10-15 minutes.
