Review on TOTO ST743S 01 Flushing System by Jeff Payne

I broke my 5 year old tank after tightening it up when it started leaking. When I installed the new one I discovered that my old tank was not installed properly and this is causing both that Leak as well as the crack. The installer only used one washer and nut per bolt, not two. (One set of nuts and washers holds the rubber gasket against the tank (check for leaks) and the other secures the tank to the base.) You missed, which pushes the rubber. so it came out. And when I put on the only nut the tank cracked. I was happy to see that user error led to a crack because I love and still love Toto products. It's easy to install. And unlike other reviewers, my cap fit perfectly with no wobble and I tightened the tank until it touched 3 points as instructed. Others say their cap is loose and the Tank cracked while bolting it tight enough to place on the base. WARNING: When tightening the tank, remember that you are essentially screwing two teacups together. BE GENTLE. It's ceramic. And I don't know if that helped, but I put my hand on the top of the tank and gently pushed the tank down. I've also stopped and reevaluated every time I heard a rattle. Ceramic has a very small flaw. Follow the instructions.
