Bought this shaver to replace my old Tondeo. This razor is mainly used for cutting. When preparing the straight razor, the first thing I noticed was that the blade was shorter than on my Tondeo. I figured that would be a problem as I not only use the razor to trim my fingers, I also use the razor to shave above or below the comb. The balance is good both closed and open. I have relatively large hands and haven't had any fit or balance issues, it's easy to hold. I decided to test this on my son's whirlwind to balance his weight and fall. This shaver worked perfectly. Of course the amount of hair the edge of the blade sees is less than I'm used to, it pays off in agility. The smaller blade is designed for fine detail work. The fact that it comes with so many blades is fantastic too. The blades are fairly sharp (not quite to the person level) and have a good glide in action; I had no jerks or jerks. After I finished I let my teenage daughter hold it. It fits perfectly in her smaller grip, which speaks volumes for its balance. I can't wait to try it out with a full head of hair. Aesthetically, the razor is pretty good. Seems well done. The only doubt I would have about shaving my face is the length of the blade. Until I try it for this, I don't see how there will be wide travel in positions 1, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 10. Time will tell, but expect that in the tight areas around the upper and lower lip I a great result. I'm not worried about grip and balance for backhand or backhand. All in all I would buy it again and would recommend it for hair cutting.
