Summary: Better cleaning compared to bristle brushes and no problems with mold on the thick bristle head Details: I was looking for a bristle brush with a denser bristle pattern (for better cleaning) , but the design is much the same - heads with loosely packed stiff bristles (how crusted do people get their toilets crusted?). Then I saw this product and realized that a thick, soft head cleans much more thoroughly. However, I wondered how I could keep it from mold between those fine fibers. Well, after almost a year of use, as expected, this swab cleans under the rim and deep in the exit tube much better than any bristle brush I've used. In addition, there is no sign of mold, discoloration or odors in the head. My approach to tampon care is as follows: After cleaning, I place it horizontally over the toilet and attach the handle between the rim of the toilet and the seat. I spray toilet cleaner (Biokleen Bac-Out) over the top of the tampon to get it down and through sucks. After a few hours the head is dry enough for a couple of bruises before I lay it flat with the head on the neck of a vertical converted yogurt container by the toilet for further drying. It will dry up completely in a few days, so I stick the swab upright in the container.
