Something Good: Camera Lenses

If you're looking for a lightweight telephoto lens for your A7, this lens is for you. Image quality is good and f4 is good for most reasonable lighting conditions. If you plan to use it to do wedding photography, you'll be constantly switching ISO to aperture. Fortunately, the A7 does a good job at higher ISOs. And now my complaint. I took this lens with me for my first shoot a few days after receiving it. I had the lens on my Canon 5D III while doing this or that. I grabbed the Canon and the Sony 70-200 dropped an honest 2 inches and the lens hood cracked. I was expecting the egg to crack from 2 inches but not the lens hood. My Canon gear constantly bangs and never breaks. In my opinion, the Sony 70-200 f4 is NOT suitable for professional use. More importantly, I contacted Sony and discussed the matter with them and their response was a respectful but firm "sorry I'm so sad". I can work around the limitations of the lens. I understood these limitations when I bought it. However, I can never get past Sony's indifference. I spent €50 on a new hood. I'll get over it quickly. They've lost thousands of dollars in income for not paying attention to the needs of professional photographers, and this will affect Sony in the long run. From now on I will buy third party lenses and use an adapter to use them on my mirrorless cameras.
