There are cheap refractometers and there are Vee Gee refractometers. The cheap ones are very light and frankly cheap made out of plastic and have a screw adjuster for size adjustment. The Vee Gee is a solid instrument with a glass optical prism and a very nice ring for easy calibration adjustments. If you're getting a refractometer for your saltwater aquarium (and don't want to rely on inaccurate swing arm hydrometers), you should definitely get the Vee Gee. This one is definitely worth the extra money! **UPDATE** Three years later the calibration is correct and this refractometer still impresses me!
