I've wanted one for a very long time, since my husband and I only fish from the shore (fishermen?) I gritted my teeth and bought one - I was waiting for spring, so me can go out and test and broadcast it for a while. Setup was easy, as was charging. The application was not long in coming. We first tried Bob (as we called him) at a local park that has several streams running through it. I said the depth is 90% accurate. Knowing the waterway, I knew what were likely fish and what were random tree branches. Where's the fish where it says? Yes! Have I had bites where there is no fish? Not me! So I would say a good fit. Another test: We went to the South Pier in Erie, Pennsylvania, where the water is known to be 20 to 30 feet deep. Bob told me it was 29 feet. Bob also said that there was no fish to my left and a big fish to my right. Bob was right (see photo and sorry for the arrogance). Now for the bad: Bob doesn't have that much range. A weak sonar signal appears quite often. Sometimes you can throw it 30 feet or so and the signal will be strong, but it's usually better if it's less than 20 feet away. It may also be related to my phone's Bluetooth range and not the product.
