Review on Uniden D1680: Cutting-Edge Cordless Phone with Answering System by Lakeisha Smith

Bought this phone to replace old Uniden Dect 6.0 phones that were having problems (battery won't hold charge, bad buttons). Very disappointed with this new hardware. With the old Uniden, I would get a "search" message regularly - once a week or two. It appeared before the call, very rarely during the call. These Uniden D1680-3 phones do not display a search message - the phones simply turn themselves off during a call (about once a day!). About 50% of the time the phone recovers itself (the call isn't lost, it's just that neither party hears the other). The rest of the time, the call must be dialed again. Uniden's focus isn't on returning a product, it's on calling customer service. did it This problem must be common - they even have their own entry for it. I've already tried everything suggested in the recording except their last suggestion - to replace the phones with something else! Well I think I will.
