Silver doesn't last, but gold lasts well!
I have made jewelry and I have some pieces of jewelry less than a year old that I have never worn or keep my inventory out of and I have noticed that the silver has faded quite quickly. I've had to replace them on items that have already been unsold and I'm very disappointed and a little embarrassed that people bought them from me, but I sell costume jewelry so I'm sure you'll understand. I will not buy silver. again, but the gold is in very good condition and I will continue to buy them.
