Mine Explorer 2000, now I have all the power I need and very quiet and smooth operation. I would advise you to replace the thermostat, plugs and all hoses. Also consider replacing the upper/lower oil pan gasket and the front and rear main gaskets (They slide in and out very easily.) You should also replace the upper/lower intake manifold gaskets as well as the oil pan gaskets in the oil pan. The total cost of this project was $2,200. It's worth it. UPDATE: Well the item worked fine for about 11,000 miles. Professional mechanic installed and serviced. We also found that the balancer shaft timing chain guide had failed and the chain was loose. We fixed it. Then, 300 miles later, at highway speeds, the rear timing cassette collapsed, sending two valves through the passenger-side head and wrecking the engine. My suggestion would be to spend the money on a higher quality product. I used motor boat filter with check valve, motor boat synthetic oil, the motor did not press. normal city traffic. My total cost for multiple repairs and eventually an engine swap was $2200 for the first set of timing chains, $1600 for the second timing chain repair (front balancer chain, oil pan removal) and finally $2600 for installing a used engine with an original mileage of 65,000 miles. This car was spent $6,400 due to timing chain problems. So, do it once and spend the money on quality products.
