Very comfortable chair that looks better in real life than on the internet

We bought this chair after looking at a few others and decided Herman Miller chairs were way out of our price range. Here are some thoughts. PROS: MATERIALS (feel) and DESIGN: The materials you come into contact with are of a higher quality than I expected in this price range. We ordered gray and green and I like the way it looks. The gray mesh is beautiful and the green seat is very tasteful and well constructed. I was visually bored with black chairs and this chair looks better in person than it does online. It looks like it belongs to the Apple Store. He looks attractive and is quite cute. The arms appear to have fixed, variable-density padding that's not particularly soft, but it's not stiff either. It seems to strike the right balance, giving a little but not wearing out too quickly. COMFORT: The padding on the bottom is firm but pliable. I weigh over 200 pounds, I felt comfortable, didn't sag and felt supported. The chair has a decent amount of adjustment and is comfortable. When shipped from the factory, the rear recline knob on the underside of the chair was loosened a bit and we tightened it a lot so the tension when reclining freely is much better now. HEADREST: Not all chairs in this price range have a headrest. They should. It can be used as a chair with a headrest - it's so convenient. Hard plastic (especially the white bits) and while that's common in chairs in this class, there seems to be less metal in this chair than the one it replaced for us. Not really negative, just a note. The use of plastic also makes it much lighter and more maneuverable than the one it replaces. base, and this can be changed after assembly, but this is not a normal setting). I personally don't like chair arms that move from side to side as I feel it gives the impression of instability, but for some this may matter. BRAND: I have never heard of this brand. It doesn't mean anything because now I know they make a quality product but if you like well known brands this might not be a household name. ASSEMBLY: All of these chairs require assembly at home. We are very comfortable and found the chair quite easy to assemble and put together without incident in about 20 minutes. The nice thing is that this manufacturer gives you an extra screw and washer of each type, so you don't get stuck if something doesn't quite match the threads due to a quality control issue at the factory. Please note that the Allen key provided, while it will help get the job done, is not an idea. I was fortunate to have a correct size hex T-wrench and it made the job a lot easier. It also allowed me to tighten the bolts much more than I could with the regular hex wrench that comes with the kit. BALANCE: The chair feels solid and well built, but if you lean back quickly there's a chance you'll tip the chair over. I don't know if other chairs in this price range have the same feel. However, if you're just sitting in a chair normally, that feeling doesn't exist. CONS: ADJUSTMENTS: It takes four adjustments to make this chair full. - First, the headrest moves up and down but does not tilt forward. - Second, the lumbar support moves up and down, but it doesn't have a soft lining, and there's no adjustment knob to adjust the tension of the lumbar support. Shaft tension is ok but maybe it would be nice to have that adjustment and the padding would be nice too although it works well due to the quality mesh on the back of the chair. - Thirdly, I would like a stepless tilt lock on this chair. This chair has a tilt lock and there are "steps" but not endless (apparently another system) that I have on my work chair that I like. Fourth, and perhaps most importantly, there's no way the underside will tilt along with the back of the seat when you recline. The chair is therefore more like a deck chair than many other office chairs that move when you lean back. I feel that this lack of ability to move the floor with the back of the chair when you recline detracts from the comfort of an office chair, especially when reclined as reclined can strain your back rather than get you to sleep to weigh . while changing your position. For all of these settings, especially the last two, I gave the chair one star. I hope this gives you some insight into this chair and helps you make an informed decision. It's difficult to choose a chair online because it's an unknown brand and you won't see the chair until you have it at home. Good luck with your chair purchase.
