I bought these to jack up my car with the jack that came with it. I jacked my car up a bit, it had bigger tires on it, and found that my jack could no longer reach the car enough to lift it high enough to change a tire. So I bought them to make up the difference. I know they say they can't be folded but when I tested them (I bought all 4) they were very sturdy. It didn't bother me at all. And I don't see any way they could slip at all unless I was on a pretty serious incline. I suppose most people use them for RV's and I can't comment on that, but they work great for what I bought them for. Definitely recommended.
