I recently bought this as a small desktop amp for two bookshelf speakers which are decent speakers and not that difficult to drive. Even 10 wpc works in my setup. At low volume it is ok. average is ok Let's say you have a good song on your playlist. You want to turn up the volume a little, step away from the table, and dance. It's not going to happen. He has power. It only sounds terrible at the end of the 50-100% range. Unplayable. I can tell you. It's a far cry from 30 watts per channel if you're expecting it. It's 15 if you're lucky, and I think it's a stretch. It's beginning to unravel what's happening to me on different levels and at different times. All I know is not to waste my time blowing a tune. It's loud enough right in front of me from the bookshelf speakers, but I can't fill that space well. Fair enough. This is a $27 amp. I didn't expect it to blow my mind. I think I was expecting a solid 20 wpc. I don't think I have anything close to that, so it's actually kind of a disappointment. Yes I know it's a cheap amp but I bought the hype anyway. There is another problem I have that is totally unacceptable. Probably going through a warranty (if there is one at all) is more of a headache than I want to worry about. So I just eat the 30 I spent and learn my lesson. I will never buy anything from Pyle again and here's why. I only turned it on after a week of ownership and one of the channels wasn't working. I turned it off, checked all the cables and it worked from 2 channels. I thought that one of the wires must have twitched somehow. My wife cleared my table and I thought maybe she stumbled on something and maybe that was it. The next day I turn on the same thing, only the opposite channel this time. Now I know nothing has changed, but I still checked all the connections. A few switch presses and insert, reinsert and device repeat works with two channels again. The next day, the channel that had been switched off the day before went off again. I turn off the source, turn up the volume, and flip the switch to see if both speakers get a surge of power when I turn the unit on. They didn't. Only left. I've cycled the device and I can hear both speakers getting power. I'm no scientist, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the circuit. If I were a bettor, I would bet on it. Hence my advice: don't buy any of these. This is a cheap amp, I decided to give it a try. This is bad. I will just use it like that until I replace it with a better one that I buy. I regret buying this. As cheap as it was, it wasn't worth it. I go up several levels. I've always heard that Pyle is cheap crap, but I never believed it. This was my first and probably last experience with this Pyle company. Save your money and get something better.
