Review on MonMount Freestanding Monitor 24 Inch LCD 6460B by Bob Walters

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Offers great ergonomics especially for bifocal wearers

I bought this stand to position my 23 inch HP2310m monitor (300 nits!) at just the right distance from my eyes for comfortable viewing - the monitor hovers over the top number row of my keyboards. Also, I wear bifocals, so it's actually more comfortable if the monitor is fairly low (the bottom is 3 inches higher than my desk) and tilted slightly upwards. I place the stand far behind the table so that the arm is stretched far enough forward. In this configuration I have to press the back edge of the stand against the table with a C-clamp (unfortunately I lost the plate to slide it over the table and remove the stand) to keep it from falling. When using this with a single monitor I bought a dual mount as it isn't much more expensive than a single mount. It also allows me to add a second monitor if I decide I need one. I've had my first for almost a year and it's still going strong. Unlike the first cheaper mount I bought, Tyke's hinges are very solid - the monitor has no play or play. Adjustments are just the right tightness. I actually use a KVM switch for the monitor so I can use my laptop or in very rare cases my old desktop. My eyes get tired at night and otherwise I would have to crane my neck and look at my laptop! I can only recommend this stand and just recently bought a second one. Unfortunately, I've found that monitors with VESA 100x100 mounts are harder to find. I was hoping to buy another HP monitor like mine, but I don't see any newer HP monitors with VESA or 300 nits - sigh.
