These micro lights are great for providing soft light in small spaces, but the position of the switch at the end of the cord, at the plug end, completely eliminates the need for a detachable plug for easy cabinet installation. Being able to easily remove and replace the plug is great. This allows the user to drill just a small hole to access the cable, or perhaps not drill a hole at all. I have ordered several of this product and the unstable placement of the plug is frustrating. On one device the switch was at the end of the lamp where it was supposed to be. The switches for the rest of the devices were at the end of the PLUG cord, next to the outlet. at the stupid end. If you're not afraid to move the switch (which requires removing a small portion of the power cord) and lose about a foot of cord length, you're going to have to drill a LARGE access hole and risk ruining your furniture. Why not place a switch next to the lamp? It will most likely be installed in a closet and then the switch will be BEHIND the lighted piece of furniture making it difficult to actually use the light.
