Good news: Security passed without any problems. I didn't have to remove my belt and I didn't set off an alarm. Not very good news. The belt itself is made of a rubber-like material that unfortunately doesn't slide well in the belt loops. Update: Went to a thrift store and bought a large leather belt. Eliminated the rubber belt, tailored the leather belt, used a plastic buckle. I now have a belt that is comfortable, easy to use, goes through security and even holds my pants!
