This cutter worked well on 3/16" galvanized steel until the pilot bit, which was cheap and fragile, snapped. Tried to contact the manufacturer using the information on the package. No response. Terrible customer service! And while a replacement was listed on ebay, it did not come with the spring (likely to disappear when the bit breaks) and was out of stock. Fortunately, I found a replacement from another company. If you're in the same predicament, search for "Ideal Industries SmoothStart Replacement Pilot Drill". It fits, comes with a spring, and appears to be made of better metal than the one that came with the hole cutter.
