Don’t pay attention to the one and two star reviews of this product! If you have a "country-ish” style in your kitchen you’re going to LOVE this butter dish. The wooden lid fits nicely on top of the enamel dish - and although it doesn’t have a seal of any kind on it - anyone that uses real butter knows it’s doesn't need to be air sealed - we’ve owned multiple ceramic or glass butter dishes that didn’t have a seal. We leave ours on the counter for soft spreadable butter and don’t have any issues.
