This is a heavy duty drill. Much tougher than those sold in hardware stores. I actually tested them in a drill press and unscrewed the shaft and some. In order not to slip in the chuck, I had to grind the cheaper plane surfaces, where the plane surface was already ground on this one. It can be used to drill small holes for small signs that use 1" or 2" square tubing for legs.
