So I know what the inside of these filters looked like when I bought them for my home a few years ago. A year later I ordered some replacement refills and they looked completely different - they weren't transparent so you couldn't see anything through them and they sounded like loose material was pushing into the filter. So it's very easy to unscrew, I look through one end and all it looks like is dirt and shredded stuff that looks like a mouse got in and just chewed it all up! There were no different layers, no different materials that the water had to go through in any particular order, as if they just went there and picked up some dirt from the outside and flung it in! What is this garbage!? I sent them back immediately and need to get rid of the whole system! I bought four different ones for different sinks around the house which I have to throw away because they used something absolutely cheap to install those filters! There are no more layers of different materials, so when you get it, open it up and see for yourself! The company should be ashamed that they still refer to this as a 10-stop filter. I was so excited that I found this filter initially as the water tastes amazing, I know they still sell these original filters in China and they are all imported from China so I hope the company pulls together and orders . I was so excited to find that I know they still sell these genuine filters in China and they are all imported from China, so I'm hoping the company will take it upon themselves and order the *real thing* the way it is originally was. It's not fair to sell something cobbled together to unsuspecting people, let alone dangerous. Also, it has nothing to do with COVID and supply chain issues - I bought them many months before anything else happened. Someone else posted a video showing the same smut and said they're even sick of it. Of course, a way to simply cut your costs and endanger the public. They are dishonest about product changes, they even got the year wrong when they said it changed in 2017 when as of 2020 it hasn't changed. abominable! The last photo shows what a really good original filter looked like.
