Toyota vehicles are notorious for door lock actuator problems. I have replaced the power door locks 6 times on my 2008 Highlander. The first three are covered by an extended warranty. I paid $450 each for the last three out of my own pocket. This is because Toyota uses a cheap motor with plastic parts in its mechanisms. I found several posts about swapping motors. Within 5 years a door was broken open. I bought these motors for $5 and installed them myself. Now all my doors work and I will never have a problem again. So JOY! This saved me at least $500 and saved me a headache later.
