the color you see in the pictures is exactly how it lights up, it doesn't change colors it doesn't cycle through the colors. you can adjust its brightness and that is about it.they keys work well and we haven't had any keys not work and the mouse is the same. it does as well as any laser optical mouse with a mid size laser pick up so not quiet a entry level gammer mouse but one that will do the basics.the fact that I thought it would cycle through the colors was the main reason for the purchase. the fact it doesn't and is just a backlight is kind of disappointing. outside of that it does everything that it needs to do and also doesn't require a ton of triple A's or double A's I give it a three out of five because of the misleading English of the description at time of purchase.
