I bought them for purposes other than drinks. I make my own supply and usually freeze them in ziplock bags, but if the zipper didn't hold or the bag was punctured, my supply was wasted. I don't do canning, so I didn't want to go through the process, and I like being available in smaller batches. Well I've discovered these beauties! One cube is the perfect 1/3 cup, 3 cubes is 1 cup so they melt quickly when I toss them in a bowl. I do the stock crafting process and then divide it into bowls. I bought 4 trays and this is perfect for the amount I make at once. I freeze the broth, the cubes pop out easily, then store in a food storage bag, which works great for keeping air and ice crystals out. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative way to store things like this.
