UPDATE: the smell is gone.but stand by my original comments.FIRST REVIEW: I treated this board as soon as I got it. I am not new to using these products as I have a giant board. That said, I treated the board with the oil and a few days later I cut up an onion on this board and ever since then I walk into the kitchen and all I smell is onion, I made sure there was nothing in the garbage disposal and I could not figure out why. then it occurred to me to focus my smell on this little cutting board and it reeks of onion. What’s up with that? I have a giant Boos board and this NEVER happened!UPDATE: as I stated above, this is not my first boos cutting board. This one is rough to the touch as though it was not properly sanded and second from cutting up an onion it leaves scratch marks on the board. Having said this, my original board was very smooth when I got it and the only way it would leave scratch marks is if you intentionally were very heavy-handed. This is not the same quality that I became accustomed to and for that reason I am very disappointed.
