These Alla lamps look very technical and modern, but they are in no way superior to the older 194 LED lamps with fewer diodes that have been available for years. They didn't get any brighter despite having more LEDs scattered around. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the product with open circuit boards and lots of diodes. The first bulb in the package burned out. It didn't work at all no matter what direction it was plugged in or what lighting unit I tried it in. They should be bi-directional and work no matter how you connect them. This does not apply to our BMW. and this weekend I will confirm how they work in our Toyota. The next two bulbs had to be connected in a specific direction in order for them to work in the BMW. One of them touches the ceiling lens and barely fits in that spot. So, I have 1 blown bulb, 2 working but pretty weak, and 7 more untested. I'll check any remaining bulbs when I put a few in our second car (Toyota) and hopefully I'll have better luck with these bulbs. I will report how many of the 10 were dead on arrival. I was not impressed and cannot recommend these bulbs at this time. I wonder why there are so many good reviews.
