Review on 💾 12TB WD Easystore Black External USB 3.0 Hard Drive by Tim Toscano

This review is for the WD MyBook SINGLE DRIVE 8TB version. Green and white cardboard, black plastic case. Without encryption. Go and buy it, it's ok. :-) SPEED: The drive is faster than I expected. Copying 5.14TB via USB 3 took about 1 day. These were mainly music files ranging in size from 3MB to 60MB and some videos. I didn't time it and didn't look closely. You can easily play movies or music from this disc without skipping. HEATING: The disc did NOT get hot. It's not even very warm when copying over 5TB of data non-stop for most of the day. The actuator has vent holes on 2 ends. You need to put the vent side up to allow the heat to escape. This means the disc is on end and you probably didn't intend to place it. The other end has rubber feet. My guess is that the people who said this drive got very hot weren't handling it as intended.
