This is a surge protector that (according to the instructions) should be turned off during a thunderstorm. This is what I thought was the purpose of the surge protector: to make sure lightning bolts don't damage anything just plugged into the wall! What I like about it is the "spacious" space to accommodate wide (phone-like) jacks. I didn't have enough time to know what I would do if lightning inevitably struck. I could connect it to one of my "real" surge protectors and use it as a power cord. So my word is "confusing".
