Looked so good unfortunately mine didn't last long (30 minutes)

I carefully considered several inverters before deciding on this one based on the reviews and the good looks and sound. Unfortunately, after a few days of installing my entire solar system and a battery pack, I ran the inverter with a small fan to see how quickly it could drain the batteries and how the inverter would run or heat up under light loads. After about 30 minutes the air filled with a funny smell and I almost turned it off because I was pretty sure it was an electrical burn smell but the unit's fan wasn't even working, the fan I had plugged in started making funny noise. At the same time I also looked at the inverter and it seemed fine, I was sure all the connections were tight but double checked everything. And looking at the inverter display it only outputs 62 volts and fluctuates uncontrollably to 50-something volts of the 60's! I didn't need 120 volts so I tried restarting it several times and each time it couldn't raise the voltage. I have a good voltmeter and everything else was fine, only this inverter was definitely not working properly. I use a 12-6 volt golf cart. Batteries for the 12 volt system, brand new, fully charged, work in series with a 4/0 wire, parallel only 10ft. More than enough power from the battery to the inverter! I hooked up my 10 year old Walmart - Everstart 750W inverter which has been running the little fan at just 25 percent of its capacity for the past two days with no problems lol. There was so much excitement about this inverter and that was it. I'm sending it back and trying another brand. At least it happened right away and not several months later when I had to wait for the repair. Anyway, maybe I'm just lucky, but I live on an island in the Pacific and when things go wrong, as they often do, I need something I can count on.
