Cord is well protected by heavy wire wrap, unlikely to be chewable by old (outdoor) feral cat in house I'm building him, hopefully before snowstorm hits. It doesn't have a separate temperature control except that heat automatically turns on or off based on weight of pet on mat: comes on when being used, turns off when not in use. My heating pad bedding product seems nice quality, well-made, heats well, nice, washable cover, bed should easily wipe clean, however, mine arrived defective, so not used yet: makes abnormal weird buzzing noises so returning for rapid exchange. Hoping for rapid replacement as snow due tonight and for next few days. Need to keep old outdoor-only (wild) feral cat warm and safe/alive during cold wet weather.
