Pros: Can play MP3s by plugging in a flash drive (the device also remembers where you left off when it's off, great for long recordings like podcasts). Dialogues are very clear for movies. I was watching a modern war movie and there was no distortion for sophisticated sound effects like bomb blasts. Speakers can be placed horizontally or vertically. Treble and bass levels can be adjusted via the remote control. Bluetooth connection with devices works well (tested with iPad). Cons: Requires patience when adjusting the equalizer. I was spoiled with my old Harman Kardon Go+Play speakers, which delivered very rich, movie-like sound right out of the box. I find that the Topvision Soundbar is not that strong in bass and maybe even in stereo separation. As for me, I have to play with the settings of different applications (movies, music or talks). For example, I've found that 3D mode combined with Theater mode (with added bass) gives very pleasing results for pop music. It's a bit odd, but for me the different modes don't work for their intended purpose. I still try to find a good EQ setting when watching movies, but gravitate towards the Original or Theater modes (with bass and treble boost as needed). Conclusion: Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Too much bass can muffle sounds and damage sensitive ears. Music lovers might like the equalizer setting. I just wish the speakers had a way to save your settings. Maybe for future versions? As my mother gets older, she has trouble understanding movie dialogue and asks for subtitles. These speakers really help so I'm happy with the purchase. And if we ever meet after the pandemic is over, I can imagine music playing around the house through those speakers. It's also light enough to take with you to presentations that require sound. Various connectors are provided, so there is no need to waste your time on purchasing. I was trying to connect a projector with an optical cable and an iPod classic with a 3.5mm aux cable. I'm glad there was a $10 coupon so less than $100 with taxes. I hope it lasts as long as my old Harman Kardon (about 9 years). Additional Comments: I ended up watching the film with family friends to ask them how they would rate this soundbar. They were impressed and said it filled the space well. I struggled to find a good setting at first and that was my overall experience after watching a few movies with it. In today's movie (Forever My Girl, 2018 Dramatic Musical), the music mode gave its best performance. Usually it was theater mode. It takes me about five minutes to figure out the right EQ setting for the film. If you can get past that initial setup, I think the results will be worth it. However, not everyone is as technical or patient. I've come to the conclusion that this is a good buy for me as I want to adjust to different sound combinations. I can watch old movies, TV movies or big budget Hollywood movies and find the right sound setting. Also, I contacted the company about the remote control (i.e. lost or broken, you can no longer adjust bass or treble as there are no controls on the soundbar itself). The service said they would replace it for free. So that freed me up a bit.
