Review on πŸ”˜ Dritz 9 No-Sew Dungaree Buttons: Copper, 5/8-Inch 4-Count – Easy DIY Solution for Versatile Clothing Attachments by Janice Velasquez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good work. Product as in the photo. Slightly larger than the buttons on Levi's wide button jeans, but good for repairs.

They arrived in a small zipped bag, not Dritz retail packaging. They looked exactly like the picture but I was wondering if they were real. Worked well so no complaints. I used one of the buttons to fix a broken button on the front of a pair of Levi jeans. They're a little bigger than the original, but they fit. I give them 4 points because they are a bit thin. Other reviews of these buttons criticize that they are difficult to use. I used an awl to poke a hole in the fabric. Then I slipped the serrated base through the hole, placed the button over the serrated and lined it up. Then he turned it over and placed the button on the block of wood underneath. With a big flat drift I drove the base into the button. I had no problem getting the base back into place, but I did flex the button surface a bit when I hit the base too hard once or twice. My advice is to drive around the base a bit, check it out and then strike again if necessary. I managed to straighten the button with pliers and some pressure. The important thing is to have a metal punch close in diameter to the serrated base and a block of wood for setting the button. If you try to just use a hammer to hammer into the base, you will most likely bend it and get frustrated.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Slightly torn
