Please save your time, money and hassle by not buying this thermometer. The probe to be inserted into your pet's ear is over 4 inches long. This makes it very difficult to hold in your ear without sticking it in too far while trying to take a squirming pet's temperature. much too long. Also, this thing takes a very long time to get readings. I couldn't get my dogs to stand still long enough to get a reading. Out of curiosity I tried it myself. I turned the thermometer back on. in my ear and turned on the stopwatch on my phone. It took me a minute and 19 seconds to get a reading from my ear, and I held it perfectly still. It's almost impossible with a dog or a cat. Overall, this is just a terrible thermometer.
