Does NOT have a digital temperature alarm

This is a dual thermometer (probe and body) only. There is a clock and an alarm function. It remembers the maximum and minimum temperature. Does not have a temperature alarm as stated in the description. Mostly grossly wrong.

The picture does not match what was sent to you.

The product I was sent does not match the description. It has no alarm option other than the default alarm clock. Again a very different topic than what is shown. The directions are terrible too. Don't waste your time or money.

  • Free for educational purposes

The battery lasts a long time and still works after 3 years

Yes, after my aquarium crashed this temperature sensor was in a plastic bag along with other aquarium stuff. Pulled out badly. Guess what? It still works! with the same battery. That impressed me. With most electronic devices, I pulled the battery out of my pocket after a year because it was discharged and the device worked intermittently.

Misleading search/description. Room thermometer, NOT for aquarium

This is not the Life Guard Temp Alert" that was formerly sold and that I wanted to replace. Unfortunately it was a HI/LOW aquarium thermometer with temperature alert Useful, just a simple room alarm -Thermometer. Totally user and not advertised.

  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Operating speed

Good Features Best in Aquarium Thermometer

This is my second. I wish they were more waterproof. If you accidentally drop it in water for even a brief second, it may or may not come to life after drying. Also, I really like this model. It lasts if you keep it dry and has good reliable function. The alarm helps, sometimes my small pond can get warm in the summer and it lets me know to add ice to cool it down a degree or so.

For a week this unit stood on the brink.

After lying on the edge of my aquarium for a week I went downstairs one morning and noticed the temperature was slowly dropping. I used a glass thermometer to make sure the water temperature was exactly what I needed. Since the problem is obviously related to that, I decided to see what it did. It kept dropping to 0 and then shutting off. The only thing I can think of is that some sort of condensation has formed inside the case which is shorting it out. I bought this to build up my pool so the…

Don't buy this if you don't want to get upset

I don't even understand how someone can give so many good reviews, it's a piece of shit, makes you so nervous, can ruin your day. Let's say if I'm a guy who can't work and can't understand instructions, what about my two college-educated sons? What about the guys in the fish shop, what about my neighbor? I'm not kidding, I got so frustrated I'm trying everyone I know. This silly idea is so complicated that none of us could figure out how to set an alarm by following every step of the guide…

The deviation is not less than 5-7 degrees!

As other reviewers say, the temperature readings vary by at least 5-7 degrees. I have 3 thermometers in my aquarium (1 on the main display, 1 in the tub and 1 in the overflow box) from different manufacturers and they all read about 78 degrees plus or minus 0.5 degrees. This one tells me that the water in my tank is oscillating between 71 and 78 degrees every few seconds! This is actually an outdoor/indoor weather thermometer and poor at best. First, the probe is clearly not designed for use in

large display, poor water resistance

I received 4 of these for a tank kit. The good: a huge display that I can read from across the room, either on a stand or on the side of the tank, and it doesn't use expensive AAA watch batteries. The hanging option even works on rougher tanks without glass as you mount a large plate on top of the tank which then inserts into a slot on the thermometer. The suction cups would not work. It also has air temperature and alarm options, although I wasn't interested in that. Bad things: In less than 2
