These fans are great! I bought 2. One for my bedroom and one for the living room. They literally circulate the air and suck in cool outside air. I live in North/Central Florida and I want to take full advantage of the cool nights while they last before I have to turn on the AC to get a good night's sleep. are they loud I do not think so. Anyone who has ever used a box or oscillator fan should note that these fans are relatively quiet for their size. Ceiling fans dry out my eyes for some reason, but I didn't have that problem with this window fan. Colour. No, it's not pure white. Rather bone, ashy color. Which doesn't bother me at all. Problem with manual controls. I don't know if the description has changed after all the complaints I've read. But it clearly states that you can manually reverse the airflow. Just flip the fan, for goodness sake. It's not that important! I didn't have to use reverse airflow, so I can't comment on how efficient it is at pulling hot air out. I know I'm very happy with the speed at which it draws in cold air from the outside. I can't comment on the durability of the fans as I recently bought them.
