I bought this hair funnel after neck surgery so I can wash my hair. It's incredibly comfortable and durable! Clear plastic is a vinyl or durable plastic material similar to a durable shower curtain. One thing I would do is open it up and let it sag a bit to reduce wrinkles and smooth it out before using it. I was alone and had trouble with this because a seat tried to fold during use. I used it in the shower and still managed to keep the bandages dry and wash my hair. The elastic part around the head is attached with Velcro. It was comfortable and protected the face from water. I was happy with this purchase!
