Review on Knitters Pride Signature Mega Winder by Morgan Gilmore

happened to someone else. The "dyed" version of this signature yarn winder is more expensive than the natural version. I liked the look of the painted version and really wanted it so I was willing to pay more. The one that arrived was the unpainted version of the Natural. I don't live in a place where it's easy to go back and get a new one or I would. Again, this is not a review of the subject itself. I really don't like it when people give bad grades for anything other than the subject, and yet here I am! The item itself seems to work. I got it because it said "Mega" ball of yarn. I have tried, Bernat Softee Super Bulky #6 to wrap. 100% acrylic. Each skein weighs 3.5 ounces and is approximately 108 meters long. Gauge: 11st x 14p = 4in/10cm on US11/8mm Crochet: 8sc x 9p = 4in/10cm with L11/8mm. It worked fine until about the last 1/4 of the yarn, and then it all jumbled up and stopped wrapping well and I kept having to stop and put the wrapped yarn back on the cake because it all fell off. It's kind of a mess and will hardly stay on the wound cake. It certainly doesn't wrap good cakes like my other smaller hank yarn wrapper. Although this one would also work well.
