A good and high-quality product, but there are disadvantages.
Instead of getting a decent LG 3D TV with LINUX preinstalled, I opted to buy this. As a result, none of the regular stuff—not even YouTube—was added to Linux. The cost/benefit ratio is reasonable.
- Compact device. Putting Android on an old TV is as simple as plugging it in and choosing the appropriate input on the TV's menu. With the push of a button on YouTube or by utilizing ChromeCast with a web browser, I can effortlessly cast a smartphone broadcast to my TV (the icon now appears in the video in the browser). I also use the transfer icon to launch songs from Music.
- The app's interface with the shell (gadget) is poor. If you scroll down, you'll find the "movie search" app that you installed, even if it doesn't show up in the horizontal flow of installed programs. "NETFLIX" is steadily becoming the first entry in the setup (apparently paid :) Only Wi-Fi is used to communicate with the router, and only antennas with a strong signal will allow for reliable communication, lest the router appear to "slow down." It's hardly surprising that the response time is poor when scrolling through movie posters, given the low pricing and little storage space.
