Can't say it's the best networking product

I tried these APs because of their price. I will continue to use them exclusively on our corporate network due to the ease of installation. I can't say enough about how great the experience was with them at this price point. We have a Dell Sonicwall and the extra APs they sell (SonicPoints) seem like a good deal, but they're way overpriced (and visually less flashy) compared to those devices. Pros: - Very easy network setup, especially when deployed to multiple devices. websites (ask questions…

As a tech savvy but non-tech savvy person, this access point was extremely easy to set up and offers exceptional range and speed. Since I don't currently have any devices that support AC wireless, I saved $ by not purchasing the AC version of this product. However, I paid more for the Pro version to get 5GHz compared to cheaper Ubiquiti hotspots. Advantages: - Easy installation. For Power Over Ethernet (POE) only a network cable needs to be connected from the router/switch to the desired…

Good product, reliable but some flaws

I recently bought this to upgrade an old Linksys with DD-WRT installed. Linksys has been absolutely reliable, I've never had to restart it in over 3 years. I wanted to find something with a faster wireless connection that was just as reliable, and that helped. I haven't even restarted it since I installed it a few months ago. He's been bothered by numerous reports of noisy devices, and mine is no exception. You can hear it working when you're loading something and you're less than 10 feet away.

WOW! I love this product!

This is a great device for the price. After downloading and installing the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), I was able to install and run the software in no time (less than 30 minutes). The program found and configured the access point automatically. I just had to follow Master. The software also found the hotspot firmware update and installed it with no issues after I decided to update. It was easy for me to set up SSIDs, passwords and other features as needed. It's a very powerful product with

Great for my home

I replaced two consumer APs with one for my home and am very pleased. This AP is ceiling mounted in the middle of my house and provides the same or even better coverage than two APs at opposite ends of my house. Multiple SSIDs allow me to run a guest wireless network separate from the network I use for my devices. The product looks nice on my ceiling, like a flat smoke detector, although the diameter is slightly larger. The LED can be turned off to make it even less visible. The product is…

Great value for money - 2 installed in office

Quick comparison between UAP and UAP-PRO: The main difference between UAP-PRO and regular UAP (besides the price) is this. that the PRO comes with a second radio (5GHz band) and can serve more users per device if split evenly between the two radios. In addition, the PRO works with standard 48V PoE and has two Gigabit Ethernet ports (instead of one 100Mbps). For the past few months I've read everything I could read about wireless access points and various manufacturers on demand. to upgrade our…

More live gear should be good.

I am currently using this and a DIY firewall/router (running PFSense) to replace the Apple Network Kit which failed under my workload. I really like the Ubiquiti UniFi range and plan to buy more to get better Wi-Fi coverage throughout my house and back to my writing shack. What I love about it is that I can have separate SSIDs (up to four) represented by the same access point, each routed to a different VLAN on my network. So I have a passwordless guest network routed through Tor on my…

Good performance, easy setup, no issues

I bought this device to have both the best range and simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz coverage that my old AP does not have. Installation was easy with the included UniFi controller program. I disabled Wi-Fi on my existing Draytek Vigor 2110n router and from there connected to UniFi via Ethernet and used identical WPA2 SSID credentials. Various wireless devices in my house reconnected with no issues. Both range and speed have improved significantly (but my Draytek is 7 years old so I still expected

It was pretty easy once I set my DHCP option to 43.

12/07/15: This review was written after I installed and configured the access point. This was fairly easy after configuring DHCP option 43 for the IP address of the computer I installed the controller software on. Once I figured that out, I ran the Unifi AP discovery utility that comes with the controller software - the AP showed up as connected - and I was able to easily access all the resources I needed. I will update this review once it goes into production. My biggest concern is how it will

Ubiquiti Networks UniFi UAP-PRO Enterprise WiFi System

This WiFi hotspot is really for business, but I bought it for my home to get commercial-level quality, reliability and security. The range is way more than I need in my three story house and surrounding areas, or at least I thought so. I'll update this review after using the UniFi UAP-Pro for a while before jumping to conclusions about its range. The exterior just looks cool and futuristic. I installed it on the wall in the center and near the center of my house. It's a little bigger than…
