I wanted to use an air stone to supplement the oxygen supply of a general 20 gallon aquarium. I bought the white version in stingray or triangle shape. It seemed like an easier decision than buying a pump, hose and pneumatic stone - and it was. It took less than a minute to click together. I attached the pump to the outer glass of the tank with the supplied suction cup. It fits snugly on the glass and doesn't move. I dropped the hose with the round air stone into the tank, plugged it into an outlet and the air stone started bubbling nicely. My purchase had a second, smaller Aeroston as a backup. Note: The length of the power cord that connects to the triangular pump is about 36 inches, so I had easy access to an outlet. A large round air stone creates a steady stream of two inch wide bubbles and may be too strong for your fish if your tank is less than 20 gallons. While my mollies have no problem swimming in the bubble current, my tetras and zebrafish find it too strong and avoid it. For 20 gallons and up; I think this is the winner.
