So this review can get quite long so I'll try to keep it short. In fact this soap is great for maintaining clean matt paintwork, it is a gentle soap and with frequent use the car looks great and the paintwork leaves a water repellent finish. My truck (before I bought it) stood in the field and in the barn for about 3 years. The paint is stained, dirt has accumulated on the hood and roof and it lacks the smooth appearance that I saw in the photos. I tried this washing machine when I first got my truck, expecting it to clean it and make it look good again, but it didn't. This is a very mild soap. I then decontaminated my paintwork with Iron X and used boat cleaner and RV cleaner to remove the dirt from the truck. Now I use it to keep up with my truck and wash it at least twice a month. This keeps it looking good, and if you follow these steps (pressure wash all contaminants ie bugs and road grime, either with a foam gun or the old fashioned way with soap and a brush (which I prefer)), then with it rinse off with a garden hose) will give your matte car a great look with some water repellency.
