Review on ๐Ÿš› Bilstein 24186247 Shock Absorber - Enhanced Performance for Toyota Light Truck by Paul Walton

Revainrating 3 out of 5

* * High quality. Delivers an annoying BREAKDOWN JOURNEY though.

It's hard to say how the new shock absorbers/struts will affect my ride. So I settled on a quality OEM replacement with a better name, assuming I would have the best possible driving experience with superior control margin. But it didn't work for me. Billstein has high quality but they are not matched to my taste on my tundra 2011 sr5 double cab 4wd. These Bilsteins were overly controlling and delivered an annoying CONTINUOUS RIDE. I know it's PU, but my old Toyota Nitrogen OEM shocks provided a controlled and less bumpy on-road ride that was better matched to the 2011 Tundra. In other words, these Bilsteins will handle any full load , so if you always set the maximum loading and transport trailers, it will be good. But for normal freeway driving, they offer an annoyingly harsh, choppy ride. Too bad I haven't changed. CONCLUSION: These frames offer a firmer ride than my standard frames. I got this result for the first time with Bilstein. The A-pillars have also been replaced with matching Bilstein dampers to get the full Bilstein effect. Given the annoyingly choppy ride, I'd happily use a different set of Toyota OEM nitrogen struts/shocks that are better matched to my particular Tundra model. DESERVES 3=STARS.
