I decided to buy a RAM mount for my iPhone 6 plus after being disappointed with other cheaper (but also inferior) mounts. I wish I had bought this the first time. First of all, it's a strong thing. There are no cheap parts anywhere. Second, modularity. You can use it as is or buy additional arms or extensions to make it longer or even more adjustable. What I did; I bought an extra 1" arm to place the stand exactly where I want it in my car. The X-arms on the stand are strong. Relatively easy to dismantle, but the phone holds without problems. I use an iPhone 6 plus with a fairly large waterproof case. and the cradle holds it very well. Some people have complained that their hands can press the volume buttons on the side of the phone and I certainly understand their point, but as I said, my phone case is waterproof and the gaskets that cover the volume buttons are pretty durable. that was never a problem for me. Overall I am very happy with this mount. It's strong, durable, modular, expandable and very high quality. As they say, cheap means expensive. I wish I had bought this mount when I first read about it; but paying over $80 for this mount plus an additional 1-inch extension understandably held me back. now i wish I would have wasted my money on others I've bought before.
